The best UK Wedding venues 2022 (I shot at this year!)
If you follow me on instagram, you would have seen that I did a story recently on some of my favourite venues that I worked at this year. This is going to be an in depth look into that! Maybe you’ll see your venue, or one you’re now inspired to go visit!
LUSTY GLAZE, CORNWALL
Lusty glaze is the summer venue of the year. A destination wedding without leaving the UK, what more could you ask for? With the sand at your feet during couple photos, the glorious waves crashing against the beach throughout your vows, and the sun setting through the gorgeous windows while you have your first dance alongside your dearest family members.
My couple and their families travelled all the way from Surrey to the wild Cornish coast to have their beautiful day. Now, what they hadn’t imagined is that the rain and wind would indeed be WILD that day.
No bother to them though, both Hope & Dexter truly embraced the wildness of the day, and in the end could not have imagined it to be any better. The staff at Lusty Glaze were amazing at keeping the inside spaces very quickly turned around for the guests, and at least from my perspective as a photographer, were incredibly accommodating towards myself, allowing me to get the best images for my couple.
TALHENBONT HALL, NORTH WALES
Oh Talhenbont. Being welsh, this one was a little closer to home for me, and truly is a beautiful venue in an equally beautiful location. You can’t really go wrong with any of the landscapes in Wales (biased, I realise), everywhere you look, the mountains curve in the distance, allowing you to really be mesmerised by them.
The bridal prep area is huge, perfect for your bridal party and close family members. I managed to scamper between both bridal and groom preparations, as they were so close to each other, with everything being on site. The entire venue, you can tell, has been carefully thought through. The most perfect (and bright!!!) ceremony space, which then twilights as your evening celebrations, and even has a gorgeous balcony space, should the weather permit.
I found the staff to work so well together, catching them laughing with one another often. It felt like watching a big family put on a very happy event. Which, I guess.. was exactly what they were doing. The day ran smoothly, and the couple managed to utilise every part of the grounds for their entertainments throughout the day.
BROCKHOLES NATURE RESERVE, PRESTON
I LOVE THIS VENUE. It’s a literal nature reserve. A literal nature reserve!! The ceremony room is huge, and photographs incredibly well, with all of the windows overlooking the lake, it just feels like you’re floating in there!
While it is open to the public, and not entirely shut off for your wedding day, this really doesn’t feel like the case. The designated area is definitely big enough to host your wedding, and while waiting for the turnaround of your ceremony space to happen, group photos are able to be taken in the middle of the lake, on a gorgeous footbridge! Just be careful not to fall in… (speaking to the drunk groomsmen here)
Definitely an amazing venue for a beautiful summery day, but also, I feel it would look equally spectacular in the winter, or on an overcast day.
