A stunning winter wedding at Bryngarw House, South Wales
When Demi and Tommy asked me to photograph their winter wedding at the beautiful Bryngarw House, I was beyond excited. Demi is my usual content creator—someone I often collaborate with on weddings—so this was a really unique opportunity to work for her instead of alongside her.
Knowing her creative vision and attention to detail, I knew their day would be one to remember.
Spoiler alert: it absolutely was.
A Pre-Wedding Shoot with a Four-Legged Guest
Before the wedding, Demi and Tommy opted for a pre-wedding photoshoot, which I always recommend for couples. Not only does it help you get comfortable in front of the camera, but it’s also a lovely chance for us to get to know each other and shake off any nerves (grooms, especially!!!) ahead of the big day.
Demi and Tommy brought their dog along for the shoot, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The photos were relaxed, natural, and so them. It’s always so special when couples include pets—they’re part of the family, after all!
The Wedding Morning – Laughter, PJs, and Surprises
The morning of the wedding was such a fun, and relaxed vibe. Demi got ready with her bridesmaids, and I captured some candid moments that I know they’ll treasure forever—matching PJs, cheeky glasses of bubbly, and even a newspaper with the headline “Today’s the Day!”.
One of the sweetest touches of the morning was Demi’s surprise for Tommy. Earlier in the year, she’d booked a boudoir photoshoot with me, creating a stunning and empowering album as a wedding morning gift. Seeing Tommy’s reaction as he opened it was such a heartfelt moment. These little surprises always add something so personal to the day.
Rainy Days and Romantic Photos
Now, let’s talk about the weather. It rained. A lot. I mean, it’s winter in Wales, who were we kidding? But if there’s one thing I always say, it’s that rain doesn’t have to ruin your wedding photos—in fact, it can make them even more magical. IF you’re prepared to get a lil soaked…
Bryngarw House, with its lush grounds and dramatic winter backdrops, looked like something out of a movie. Demi and Tommy were absolute troopers, braving the drizzle with umbrellas in hand and the biggest smiles on their faces. We created some gorgeous, moody shots that I know they’ll look back on and love forever. Winter weddings bring such a cozy, romantic vibe, and there’s something about the rain that makes those moments even more cinematic.
Unique Surprises and Thoughtful Touches
Because Demi works in the wedding industry, it was no surprise that she pulled together some of the best suppliers and the most creative ideas to make their day unforgettable. Here are just a few of the highlights that stood out:
The live painter – Imagine walking down the aisle as newlyweds and having that exact moment captured on canvas. It’s such a unique keepsake and a beautiful way to preserve the memory of your ceremony.
The saxophonist and roaming band – Music plays such a big role in setting the tone of a wedding, and Demi and Tommy got it so right. The saxophonist brought the energy during cocktail hour, and Savannah and her Roaming Band had everyone entertained during dinner.
The magician – Having a magician wow your guests with close-up tricks during the reception? Genius. It kept everyone laughing and chatting, and the reactions were priceless.
The ring surprise – Instead of a ring bearer, Demi had the rings hidden under a random guest’s seat—a fun, unexpected moment that had everyone on the edge of their seats.
The Evening band -
These thoughtful touches made the day feel so personal, and you could see how much care Demi and Tommy put into making their guests feel part of the celebration.
A Winter Wonderland Vibe
Bryngarw House was the perfect venue for this winter wedding. The reception room was beautifully decorated with twinkling fairy lights, warm tones, and a stunning Christmas tree that gave the space such a festive, cozy feel. I’m a hugefan of winter weddings for this exact reason—there’s nothing quite like the combination of elegant decor and the warmth of a room filled with people celebrating love.
From the heartfelt ceremony to the laughter-filled speeches and the dance floor that stayed packed all night, the atmosphere was nothing short of magical. Demi and Tommy’s love for each other—and for their family and friends—was at the heart of it all.
Final Thoughts
Demi and Tommy’s winter wedding at Bryngarw House was a true testament to embracing the season and making the most of every moment. Rain or shine, they trusted me to capture their day naturally and beautifully, and I’m so grateful for that.
